this lovely Acer unfortunately has difficulty to grown in usda zone 9 -not well tollerate dry conditions and clay soil -it's my fourth nipponicum another three are dead.now i change the expo is total shade and well covered to hot wind ,and i add pine bark and sand of river in my soil and mature fertilize of hourse-pics date spring 2019
